CNC Plasma Machine Operator/Programmer

Job Description

We are looking for a CNC Plasma machine operator to join our steel shop team. This team member will set up, operate, and maintain the CNC plasma cutting machine to accurately cut and shape metal workpieces according to technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

Machine Operation and Setup: Operate and program CNC plasma cutting machines, including setting

machine parameters, adjusting controls, and ensuring proper alignment of materials .

Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and measurements to guide cutting operations.

Quality Control: Monitor cuts for precision, maintain high quality standards, and make adjustments as needed to meet specifications.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.

Material Handling: Lift, position, and secure metal sheets or plates manually or using cranes, often handling materials up to 40 lbs or more.

Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots, safety glasses and ear protection.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in plasma cutting technology are advantageous.

Proficiency in CNC Messer plasma machine operation, understanding of machine programming, set-up and knowledge of different metals and cutting techniques. Ability to work with metal up to 3 inches thick.

Strong attention to detail; strong hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and precision in handling cutting torches

Ability to troubleshoot machine issues, analyze problems and implement solutions efficiently.

Physical Demands: Standing for long periods, lifting and positioning materials, reaching, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery.Company Description
