Laser Operator: 1st Shift (Direct Hire)

A precision manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Laser Operator to join their production team. This role involves setting up and running a fiber optic laser to cut sheet metal components according to production requirements, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistent part quality.

What You’ll Do

Set up and operate a fiber optic laser for sheet metal cutting

Review and interpret job travelers and part drawings to confirm specifications

Select appropriate sheet metal thicknesses and material types for each job

Perform machine alignments, adjustments, and quality checks to maintain consistent cut accuracy

Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures

Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform basic machine maintenance

Cross-train and assist in other departments such as saw cutting, waterjet operation, and assembly as needed

Qualifications

Prior experience operating or setting up laser cutting equipment (fiber or CO2)

Background working with sheet metal or fabricated metal parts

Strong attention to detail and ability to read blueprints or work instructions

Comfortable using standard measuring tools for inspection

Team-oriented and reliable with a steady work ethic
