What You'll Do: The Office of Human Resources - Operations Management is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist 2 with thorough knowledge of inventory control to ensure the department's equipment and supply needs are met. This position will:
Coordinate, analyze and control statewide inventory for ODH and all grantees and sub-grantee agencies (e.g., local health departments, Women, Infants & Children clinics, Sexually Transmitted Disease clinics)
Maintain inventory database for equipment (e.g., OAKS, ServiceNow); update data on items received, assigned, shipped and/or salvaged
Review invoices, purchase orders and/or packing slips to ensure correctness and to ensure accurate quantities delivered
Develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures on inventory control (e.g., asset management, fleet management, records management, copier management) and salvage disposal for ODH, grantees and sub-grantees agencies
Assist with preparation of documents and materials for mailing and processing
Assist with delivery and pick up of various materials; loads and unloads vehicles; operates motorized vehicles to pick up and deliver items (e.g., records, mail, supplies) as necessary from various ODH locations
Respond to inquiries and requests for information by telephone, mail, email, and Microsoft Teams
Maintain communication with various ODH or other governmental agencies (e.g., Department of Administrative Services)
Perform related administrative and clerical duties (e.g., prepare reports and correspondence; create spreadsheets; coordinate ordering/shipping with agency program staff/public; maintain neat, orderly work site)
Transport and move items weighing up to 30 pounds
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm. This is an hourly position, with a pay range of 28 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule.
9 mos. exp. as Inventory Control Specialist, 64551.
-Or 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in inventory control AND 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in electronic data processing related to inventory control AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Knowledge and experience with inventory control policies and procedures
Experience in receiving materials from delivery vendors (e.g., verifying item counts, item receipt condition, system delivery confirmation and following proper storage procedures)
Experience responding to inquiries and requests for information either by telephone, mail, email and/or Microsoft Teams
Experience in communicating across multiple departments and working with external business partners
Experience with inventory databases and Microsoft applications
Experience driving a vehicle for deliveries and pick ups
Experience in warehouse slotting and inventory placement
