What you will be doing:
Perform highway lighting reviews for ODOT projects.
Evaluate railroad crossing preemption treatments for applicability.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Highway Lighting, Signal Design, and Preemption.
Participate in railroad crossing field reviews.
Assist with ongoing updates to Highway Lighting, Signal Design, and Preemption Standards.
Assist districts with electrical and lighting issues in the field.

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
-Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers &
Surveyors; 2 yrs. exp. as group or project leader or supervisor providing work direction & training to employees engaged
in engineering projects or 2 yrs. exp. in managing engineering research projects (i.e., managing research projects applies
only to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess
valid driver’s license.
