We are seeking a Construction Material Technician to conduct testing and inspection services for various projects including private, state, county, and ODOT projects.
The role involves performing on-site testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, asphalt, and steel to ensure compliance with project specifications.
The technician will document test results and field activities daily and communicate directly with owners' representatives, project managers, contractors, and other on-site personnel.
The position requires local travel to job sites and may involve overtime and weekend work.
Responsibilities + Conduct quality control testing at project sites, including testing of concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and reinforcing steel.
+ Perform construction administration and inspection services for state, county, and local roadway and bridge projects as well as municipal utility or infrastructure projects.
+ Inspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and proposals.
+ Verify plan quantities and calculations with as-bid plans, prepare and maintain project records and reports, and perform other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer.
+ Notify the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or regarding non-conforming work.
+ Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.
Essential Skills + Experience in construction inspection and construction material testing is a plus + ACI and/or Nuclear Gauge certification is strongly preferred.
+ Basic understanding of blueprints and construction drawings is a plus + High school diploma.
+ ODOT, NICET, and NETTCP certifications are beneficial.
+ Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
