The Heavy Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in our production team, ensuring safe and efficient operations while adhering to company policies. This position focuses on processing vehicles to produce core and scrap products, aiding customers in accessing parts, and meeting environmental requirements. Responsibilities include front loader operation alongside various material handling tasks.
Equipment Operation: Operate a Front Loader, Crusher, Forklift, or Skid Steer to move vehicles, cores, scrap, and other materials safely around the yard. Ensure loads are securely positioned. Utilize tool attachments to segregate and dismantle light passenger vehicles effectively.
Maintenance Duties: Conduct pre-operational checks and inspections on heavy machinery as specified in the Certification course.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in heavy equipment operation.
Knowledge in automotive repair or dismantling.
Familiarity with automotive parts and customer interactions.
Experience with hand tools and machinery.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and stretch outdoors for extended periods.
Capability to sit for 6-8 hours per shift in intervals of 2-3 hours.
Manual dexterity for handling tools and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
Good hand-eye coordination to operate forklift equipment safely in a dynamic environment.
Normal hearing and vision necessary to perform job functions and maintain safety.
Job Conditions:
Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Periodic exposure to minimal chemical hazards.
