Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage our financial health. As a nonprofit, our focus is on transparency and stewardship. You will be responsible for day-to-day financial transactions, with a heavy emphasis on payroll processing and tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll: Manage bi-weekly payroll, including withholdings, benefits, and local/state/federal filings.
Tax Compliance: Ensure timely filing of 941s, state unemployment, and preparation of data for annual Form 990 filings.
Fund Accounting: Maintain accurate records of restricted and unrestricted funds.
Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Reporting: Generate monthly financial statements for Board review.
Qualifications
Proven experience in bookkeeping (Nonprofit experience highly preferred).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage).
Deep understanding of payroll taxes and nonprofit compliance.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage a 20-hour work week independently.
