CNC Machine Operator

CNC Machinists Needed on Both 1st Shift & 2nd Shift

We are hiring experienced CNC Machinists on both 1st shift and 2nd shift at our busy client in Freeport. These are Furst-to-Hire opportunities. The ideal candidates will have experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment and have demonstrated longevity in work history and strong attendance. The primary function of the CNC Machinist is to set up, run and oversee machines that produce or process materials.

Hours: 6am to 2:30pm, M-F on 1st shift and 3:30pm-Midnight M-F on 2nd shift

Pay: $18.50/hour on 1st shift and $20.25 on 2nd shift

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

Load raw materials into the inventory system

Store and retrieve offcuts for reuse in production processes

Monitor tooling performance and coordinate timely replacements

Perform quality inspections on finished goods to ensure compliance with standards

Perform routine checks and minor maintenance, report major issues to technicians

Collaborate with the Planning department to meet production requirements

Complete daily inventory cycle counts following standardized work instructions

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the machine operation area

Execute system transactions in MRP/ERP and generate required reports

Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth material flow

CNC Machinist Requirements:

Experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment

Familiarity with inventory systems and ERP software (JD Edwards preferred)

Strong understanding of tooling maintenance and performance monitoring

Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and standards

Ability to perform routine checks and minor maintenance, report major issues to technicians

Demonstrate attention to detail and good problem-solving skills

Proven good attendance record

Effective communication skills with supervisor and team

Demonstrate initiative, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn

Available for overtime when necessary to meet production goals
