We are currently seeking dedicated leaders for our Workers' Compensation department, filling roles as Claims Plus Team Leader and Field Team Leader. In this critical position, you will oversee claim investigations, determine compensability, and drive settlement processes in strict adherence to our corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage claims professionals with their assigned claim inventories.
Utilize financial reporting tools to ensure accurate reserve monitoring and address trends effectively.
Facilitate and implement changes while communicating key business goal drivers.
Stay abreast of issues affecting both personal and commercial lines, including marketplace trends and organizational strategies.
Employ critical thinking skills to gather information, reason logically, and draw sound conclusions for decision-making.
Manage the claim assignment process by assessing complexity and matching claims to appropriate handlers.
Oversee the investigation and settlement procedures while ensuring compliance with relevant corporate standards.
Accurately assess the indemnity and expense exposure for claims and manage reserves promptly.
Utilize strong organizational and communication skills to resolve claims and manage deadlines effectively.
Apply thorough functional knowledge of insurance coverage in claims management.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of loss cost containment initiatives to manage assigned claims appropriately.
Identify recovery opportunities and initiate actions such as subrogation where applicable.
Adhere to statutory laws and regulatory requirements governing the claims process.
Mentor, train, and develop staff to enhance their performance and professional growth.
Foster a leadership environment among team leaders and claims handlers through collaborative support.
Demonstrate history of effectively managing staff at all levels and supporting their career advancements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation Claims is highly preferred.
Prior experience in California Workers' Compensation is advantageous but not essential.
Exhibit strong leadership capabilities, including coaching, teaching, and staff development skills.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
Familiarity with medical terminology is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Proven track record of timely follow-through in addressing customer needs.
Deep understanding of reserve accuracy relating to both property damage and bodily injury claims.
Solid grasp of customer service dynamics and ability to independently resolve issues.
Strong comprehension of financial and operational reports for effective analysis and action plans.
Additional Information:
This position offers a hybrid or remote work schedule. Candidates residing near an office location are expected to work in the office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Those who live further away will maintain a remote schedule with occasional office visits as necessary.
The annualized base pay range for this position is $86,400 - $129,600, with compensation reflecting performance and competencies. This role includes various rewards such as bonuses and other recognition opportunities.
