We are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join our Data Center Economic Development Team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to Meta's data center site selection processes by performing thorough tax and economic incentive analysis and negotiating economic development agreements for new and expanded regions. This role will include domestic and international travel, potentially up to 50%.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead economic development projects for both new data center site selections and expansions of existing sites.

Collaborate with site selection and legal teams to negotiate economic development agreements and terms, ensuring various scenarios are presented to maximize options while considering business capacity.

Negotiate and establish innovative commercial agreements and solutions that facilitate capacity and introduce flexible options for capacity delivery.

Develop comprehensive optionality strategies that empower the organization to deliver necessary capacity quickly when required, ensuring impactful deal structures are in place.

Conduct due diligence related to economic development programs and relevant state and local taxes.

Engage with internal teams including data center design, construction, legal, finance, accounting, and tax.

Work alongside cross-functional partners to clarify project parameters that support economic development discussions for data centers.

Lead various data center-related projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

Over 10 years of experience in state and local taxes and economic incentives.

Proven experience in contract negotiation.

Strong background in financial analysis and project management.

Experience in representing the company’s interests with economic development officials, government representatives, and service providers.

Ability to coordinate among internal staff and external consultants.

Preferred Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Compensation:

$202,000/year to $273,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
