Overview
GovCIO is seeking an experienced Appian Configuration Specialist to contribute to our Readiness & Employment System project. This role is fully remote within the Continental United States and represents an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of our team.
Note: This position is contingent upon contract award as the funding for this work has not yet been secured.
Responsibilities
As an Appian Configuration Specialist, you will engage with customers to understand their needs and optimize the Appian platform to meet business requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Working closely with clients to gather, clarify, and translate business requirements into effective technical designs and implementations.
Creating and maintaining configurations, process workflows, and technical solutions to drive Minimum Viable Product (MVP) development.
Collaborating with stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of enterprise needs while leading complex multi-year program initiatives.
Maintaining thorough documentation of business processes, technical workflows, architecture, and design best practices.
Participating in discussions with clients, business analysis teams, and internal operational groups to enhance overall project outcomes.
Utilizing your extensive knowledge of Appian's proprietary Case Management and Business Process Management software to deliver effective solutions.
Implementing and testing solutions following best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Bringing experience in government or industry-specific configuration management procedures, as well as automated tools to assist with these efforts.
Ensuring compliance with software development and government documentation standards.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science or Engineering, along with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a software development environment with at least 3 years focusing on configuration management and Appian BPM.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Application Development or Business Process Management using Appian or similar BPM tools.
Experience in defining and documenting architectures for technology implementations across various architectural perspectives.
Proficiency with IT systems integration (SOA, ESB) and multi-tier client-server architectures, preferred.
Strong track record in Agile methodologies across all phases of software development for critical business applications.
A minimum of 3 years in Business Architecture focusing on identifying and breaking down business capabilities.
Proven track record in business process modeling and optimization with practical experience in Appian.
A deep understanding of developing Appian Plugins and configuring systems for effective integration.
Ability to present demos effectively to customers and stakeholders.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Excellent analytical and technical skills, exceptional interpersonal communication abilities, and experience collaborating with business users and analysis teams.
Clearance Required:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance
Preferred Skills and Experience:
2+ years of recent experience in software development on federal government projects.
Approved Level 3 Appian Developer certification.
Familiarity with industry programming platforms and languages, including Java, Microsoft/.Net, and Appian BPM.
Experience with Appian Sites and familiarity with Agile Framework methodologies.
Capability to orchestrate processes through workflow applications and maintain a big-picture perspective.

Posted Salary Range
USD $120,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
