Title: Machinist 3

Department: Shop Floor

Reports to: Department Manager – Personal or Scheduling Issues

Programmer or Set-up Personnel – Program or tooling issues.

Job Objective: To maintain and operate your designated machine and produce quality parts.

Responsibilities:

The same responsibilities and competency as Machinist 2.

Able to dry-run new set-ups and machine first piece.

Inspect first piece per drawing and first piece inspection sheet.

Assist Machinist 1 & 2 in day-to-day operations.

Must understand and use the manufacturing process in accordance with the QA Manual and SOP’s.

Must have a strong understanding of the types of material used.

Must have the skills to be the lead man of any machining cell; responsibilities including troubleshooting other jobs in-process, aiding machinist 1 & 2's, helping to schedule workflow into the cell, insuring inspections sheets are being filled-out correctly, making sure routers are being filled-out correctly, making sure the routers are getting to the purchasing manager after each sequence.

Aids in the documentation of procedure of each process.

Responsible for being competent in and following all Standard Operating Procedure’s and Work Instruction’s associated with this position.

Must be able to run two machines or team up with another employee to run 3 machines with at least 90% efficiency when not in the process of setting-up a new job on a machine.

Must not call off or be late for 90 days.

Relationships and Roles:

Assists in the general training of Level 1 & 2 Machine Operators.

Demonstrates the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

Shows enthusiasm for the position and strives to learn new techniques and new positions.

Sets examples for Machine Operators in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and customer service skills and work habits.

Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Machine Operators to build competency and speed.

Job Specifications:

Experience as a Level 2 Machine Operator.

Excellent organization and time management skills.

Excellent Mechanical Skills

Strong Work Ethic.

Strong Leadership Skills.

Monday- Thursday 5pm-5am
