Position Summary:
The PLC Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining industrial automation systems. This role focuses on developing PLC/HMI solutions, troubleshooting control systems, and supporting manufacturing or process operations to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and program PLC-based control systems (e.g., Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
Develop and configure HMI/SCADA systems (e.g., FactoryTalk, WinCC, Ignition)
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLCs, HMIs, drives, and industrial networks
Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation
Support system startups, commissioning, and on-site installations
Optimize automation processes to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, and production
Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations
Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance staff
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of PLC programming experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Hands-on experience with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Willingness to travel for installations or project support (if required)
