Job Summary:
The CPQ Application Developer & Support Specialist is responsible for collecting requirements, design, development, testing, implementing and support of Configure, Price and Quote (CPQ) solutions throughout the enterprise. This role will require working with Sales Operations, Product Offering Managers, and Engineers to capture the configuration requirements associated with different products and services to better understand the needs of the business and implement best-in-class CPQ solutions.
The ideal candidate should have prior multiple implementation experiences of Oracle CPQ (BigMachines) system or equivalent, demonstrate strong technical skills, an understanding of business processes, a focus on user experience improvement, and a drive to improve sales effectiveness and efficiency through implementation and maintenance of Vertiv’s CPQ system. The CPQ Application Developer & Support Specialist should have prior experience collecting, writing, and maintaining product and service configurator specification documentation and work with development teams to drive and execute results.
The CPQ Application Developer & Support Specialist will work to achieve streamlined processes, superior quality of service, and outstanding reliability and availability. The CPQ Application Developer & Support Specialist must be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, able to work independently, comes with can-do, jump-right-in attitude. The ideal candidate must be a team player and capable of growing into leadership responsibilities.
This position will be be based onsite at our Vertiv Westerville, OH - HQ location.
Responsibilities:
Documentation and Analysis Skills - Document business processes and translate requirements into technical specifications. Collect, write, and maintain configurator specification documentation
Developer Skills – Able to build new product configurators and maintain existing configurators using multiple programing languages such as BML, BMQL, SOAP, REST, JavaScript, CSS
Communication Skills - Able to elicit and communicate requirements among stakeholders and present ideas in an easily comprehensible manner. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organization levels
Interaction Skills - Able to work in a team setting and assist stakeholders in articulating problems and opportunities. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills - Effectively identify business issues and opportunities, assess proposed solutions and meet stakeholder needs
Testing Skills - Collaborate with Marketing and Engineering to ensure the testing and proofing of configuration models prior to release
Learning Skills – Able to learn new skills through a combination of being self-taught and through training classes, but mainly a desire to be a continuous learner
Software Applications- skilled in use of contemporary project management and office productivity platforms to facilitate collaboration and communication among developers and stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
3 plus years of experience with CPQ platforms (Salesforce CPQ, Oracle CPQ, or similar)
Experience collecting, writing, and maintaining configurator specification documentation
Experience building new and complex product configurators, and maintaining existing configurators
Experience in working with cross functional integrations between systems and in a highly cross functional environment
Strong experience working with SaaS applications, including the ability to develop, extend, and debug cloud based solutions.
Hands on expertise with REST and SOAP APIs is required to build and integrate CPQ modules with surrounding enterprise systems
Ability to work in a flexible and adaptable manner with shifting priorities
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, inspire collaboration, and navigate cultural and geographic diversity
Experience working in an agile development environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience using ServiceNow preferred but not required
Oracle CPQ certification preferred but not required
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
