R&D Technologist

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparing samples on a daily basis for specific customer projects, as set out by the formulations and as required by the project brief to meet strict deadlines. Some cooking and working with meat & poultry ingredients may be required.

Prepare and dispatch samples to customers globally meeting specific customs requirements for each country. Working with existing systems to create the necessary documents and liaising with International Trade Compliance team.

Help maintain laboratory stock of raw materials, keeping stock levels at an appropriate level.

Help maintain base stock for the laboratory to follow FIFO and availability of base within its shelf life.

Assist in preparing samples for research, shelf life test, and other requirements.

Participate in internal tasting panel for flavour evaluation of raw materials and finished products

Assist in evaluating of raw materials and seasonings to ensure the highest standard in quality in line with the Gold Standard Programme.

Working on existing lab systems to maintain data and traceability of raw materials and finished products.

Maintain a clean and safe Laboratory environment in accordance with health & safety standards.

Sampling and picking up of raw materials from the factory located on the same site.

Other ad hoc duties as appropriate, in line with business requirements.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Previous experience within the Food Industry or in a laboratory environment desirable

College level education

Computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative

Assertive and able to deal effectively with people at all levels

Able to work well as part of a team

A good eye for detail

Ability to work to tight deadlines and to deal with constant changes

Effective time management skills.
