AREA: Elementary Teacher (Multiple Positions)
LOCATIONS: Muldown Elementary School

SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Provides instruction and leadership in order to enable students to develop a love of learning and to enjoy fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, psychological and physical growth and maturation. All duties are to be undertaken in alignment with the District's Strategic Plan, putting the safety, health, and well-being of students at the forefront of all actions and decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure: Must hold a valid Montana Elementary Teaching Endorsement.
Experience: Proven success as a classroom or pre-service teacher.
Child Development: Deep understanding of child/adolescent development with the ability to build strong rapport with students.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate effectively with families, staff, and the public.
Professionalism: Commitment to high character, student achievement, and strict maintenance of confidentiality. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Classroom Depth: Prior experience in elementary or multi-age settings.
Extracurriculars: Proven ability to coach sports or supervise student activities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

Strategic & Academic Ownership: Take holistic accountability for students' academic and social growth in strict alignment with the District's Strategic Plan.
Instructional Innovation: Deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary lessons using diverse strategies (inquiry, discovery, group discussion) to meet individual student needs.
Assessment & Promotion: Administer standardized testing per legal and District policy; evaluate academic growth to maintain records and provide formal recommendations for student promotion or placement.
Dynamic Environments: Create engaging classrooms using technology and functional displays to translate lesson plans into meaningful learning experiences. Professional Growth & Collaboration
Mastery of Craft: Devote energy to mastering teaching through innovative approaches, peer coaching, and responsiveness to feedback.

Student Conduct: Maintain a productive learning environment by exercising authority to prescribe disciplinary actions (e.g., extra assignments, detention, or loss of privileges) for misconduct.
Operational Support: Share in campus-wide duties, including lunchroom, playground, and hallway monitoring, and coordinate the work of parent volunteers.
Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain clear verbal and written communication with parents to discuss student development and interpret school programs.
EQUIPMENT USED: A variety of electronic and technology devices, copier, telephone/voice mail, fax.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside, but some duties will be performed outside, including recess, field trips, etc. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. The employee frequently will work irregular or extended work hours while performing the duties of this job. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, and work output of students. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, and stand; twist at neck and waist; kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet environments. May be required to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
MENTAL/MOTOR DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely performs routine work. The employee frequently exercises flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another). Guidance and reinforcement are infrequently available. The employee frequently works within time constraints and maintains attentiveness intensity. The employee is frequently involved in social interactions which require oral and written communications. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
School year working days as set by the Board of Trustees. Salary, benefits and other working conditions as negotiated between the Whitefish School District and Whitefish Education Association and as assigned by the administration.
EVALUATION:
Performance of said duties will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
