Position: SQA Engineer

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA) will perform test planning, manual test case authoring, scripting automated scripts, test execution, and test reporting on assigned tasks. The SQA Engineer will play a major role to improve the quality, functionality, reliability and usability of software products for LA Care. Software Quality Assurance skills includes functional testing, writing test plans and test cases, executing test cases, developing test strategies, and using test management system such as HP Quality Center/ALM. Coordinate and collaborate across various disciplines. Work effectively in a multi-cultural environment. Test types include functional testing, automated testing, performance testing, and security testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Responsibilities include learning and understanding the application/system under test and perform test activities on assigned tasks within the designated timelines.
Responsibilities include providing analysis of risks on available documentation and resources to perform test activities and make recommendations on the readiness of the target system.
Responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and executing test cases, automated scripts required to ensure the highest quality product possible.
Responsibilities include effectively communicating with the project team, stakeholder and IT organization on the status of the testing efforts and readiness recommendation with an impact analysis, reports and metrics.
Responsibilities include review available project assets (requirements, BRD, TRD, system documentation, test cases, defects, project notes, companion guides, release notes, test data, compliance guidelines, etc) and preparing a test strategy following the QA Team testing guidelines and software testing best practices to write, execute and maintain test cases. Maintain test documentation as needed.
Responsibilities include provide analysis of risks on test assignments, provide testing metrics and make recommendations on the readiness of the target system. Proactively contribute and suggest initiatives to advance the QA methodology, QA processes and reduce risks.
Responsibilities include continuous learning and maintain skills in healthcare information technologies, healthcare industry knowledge (EDI), healthcare systems such as MHC and QNXT, testing methodologies, test management tools (HP Quality Center / ALM), functional test automation (QTP / Unified Functional Test), performance (LoadRunner, Performance Center), and mobile testing
Coordinate and collaborate with project team resources to assist organization and QA Team objectives and goals. Contribute to build and maintain a positive and vibrant QA Team culture
Experience: 3 to 5 years
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Management Information Systems, I.T. or related field such as Computer Science.
QNXT, CCA, MHC, Member Portals, Provider Portals, Encounters, Grievance & Appeals such as PCT, Human Resource, Finance, Security, and Compliance systems or equivalent experience.
Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
