The community of Otter Valley Union Middle and High School in Brandon, Vermont and the Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union seek a creative and dynamic individual to be our next OVUHS associate principal beginning July 2026.
The successful candidate will serve in the role as High School Associate Principal, joining an administrative team of a Principal, Middle School Associate Principal, and Supervisor of Secondary Special Education.
Areas of oversight and leadership include: Manage all behavior referrals and disciplinary matters for high school students, including Hazing, Harassment, and Bullying (HHB) and Title IX.
Serve as the administrative voice for the high school's multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) team, including management of the "Think Tank" team, and attend EST and 504 meetings Promote positive culture and behaviors through oversight of the high school's PBIS Tier 1 and 2 systems.
Oversee the school's Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) in consultation with school staff, district staff, and local first responders Supervise and evaluate a small group of teachers, content focus to be determined based on the strengths and needs of the administrative team In addition to the programmatic responsibilities described above, the successful candidate will also serve as a member of a highly collaborative and collegial administrative team committed to innovative practice, continuous improvement, and safe & efficient operations.
All members of the administrative team have duties during the school day and are required to cover occasional evening events on a rotating basis.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of three years of teaching in K-12 with a preference of experience in grades 7-12.
A Masters Degree in Education is required.
The candidate must hold or be eligible for VT Principal license.
Otter Valley Union Middle and High School is a 7th through 12th grade middle and high school located on Route 7 in Brandon VT.
OVUHS serves about 520 students from the towns of Brandon, Goshen, Pittsford, Whiting, Sudbury and Leicester, with three sending elementary schools.
