Senior Mainframe Manual QA Engineer

Job Description

ComResource is looking for a Senior Mainframe Manual QA Engineer.

We need someone to assist in testing complex transactional systems within large enterprise mainframe environments while supporting major project initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Analyze system requirements and develop detailed test plans

Execute manual testing for transactional systems

Record and track test results in tools such as Jira or QTest

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives

Collaborate with engineering teams, product teams, and business partners

Validate system functionality and ensure high-quality software delivery

Troubleshoot issues within large-scale mainframe environments

Essentials:

Experience testing systems using COBOL, CICS, and DB2

Strong knowledge of Agile software development methodologies

Experience testing transactional systems in enterprise environments

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired:

ISTQB, CSTP, or CAT certification

5+ years of experience testing within financial services, banking, or insurance domains
