Job Summary

This role involves performing REST API automation testing, database testing, and performance validation across distributed systems.

The position requires expertise in Java or JavaScript/TypeScript-based automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, API validation standards, and Agile development environments.

The QA Tester will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure high-quality software delivery and maintain robust automation coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Perform REST API automation testing using Karate or REST Assured.

Conduct database testing and validate backend data integrity.

Develop and maintain automation scripts using Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL.

Work with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions to support automated pipelines.

Execute performance testing using tools like JMeter.

Validate JSON/XML structures, authentication methods (OAuth2, JWT), and schema definitions.

Use build and testing tools such as Maven/Gradle, TestNG/JUnit, and Cucumber BDD.

Participate in Agile/Scrum processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery.

Support debugging, issue analysis, and enhancement of automation frameworks.

Partner with QA and engineering teams to maintain test quality, coverage, and standards. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in REST API automation testing using Karate or REST Assured.

3+ years of experience in database testing.

Hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript (for Karate), and SQL.

Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.

Strong understanding of JSON/XML, OAuth2/JWT authentication, and schema validation.

Experience with Maven/Gradle, TestNG/JUnit, and Cucumber BDD. Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with attention to detail.

Experience mentoring junior QA engineers and collaborating across engineering teams.

Experience with the full SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Knowledge of API contract testing and Swagger/OpenAPI.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for API testing.

Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.

Familiarity with API mocking tools such as WireMock or MockServer.

Understanding of security testing concepts, including OWASP API security principles.

Experience in industries such as banking, financial services, payments, or regulated enterprise environments.
