Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund (“Everytown for Gun Safety”) is the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country. Everytown for Gun Safety’s Political Team is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator to help build the strength and power of our grassroots volunteer network, Moms Demand Action. Our goal is to build a pipeline of gun safety candidates up and down the ballot and to ensure that gun safety is a winning issue in races across the country. This role will be critical to advancing Everytown’s electoral strategy and our commitment to expand the number of volunteers who seek elected office.

The Program Coordinator will focus on managing and refining systems for tracking and generating data and reports about volunteers running for office, as well as data and trends to support leadership, fundraising, and communications activities aimed at building the visibility and reach of the Demand a Seat volunteer campaign management training program. The Coordinator will play a key role in collecting and managing data and will support recruitment and program engagement by working with data, field, legal, and digital teams to set up emails, mass texting, phonebanking and other tactics.

The Coordinator will also be responsible for planning and executing key logistical activities for in-person and virtual events, as well as managing and tracking spending in accordance with allocated budgets. Candidates should be proactive, flexible self-starters with a strong attention to detail who have a proven track record of success in managing complex and time-sensitive projects.

The Coordinator will be expected to conduct timely research on Gun Sense Candidates and synthesize information in a concise manner to support decisionmaking. This position will be for the duration of the 2026-2028 election cycle and will be based in the New York City or Washington, DC offices.

Key Responsibilities:

Support system for identifying and tracking volunteers who are running for office and volunteers who are eligible for endorsement and/or contributions

Organize and track process for approving all volunteer endorsements and contributions

Track Demand a Seat onboarding and training participation, the status of key races, including generation of regular reports on program participants and alumni

Conduct timely research on Gun Sense Candidates, draft memos, and synthesize information in a concise manner to support decisionmaking

Create processes for tracking and reporting key activities to highlight program accomplishments to help with press pitching and storytelling

Draft emails, slack messages, phone banking/texting scripts to recruit Demand a Seat participants and to ensure ongoing engagement of participants and alumni

Organize platforms (slack, training portals, or other types of tools) that house program resources and facilitate opportunities for connection among program participants

Manage logistics for trainings and meetings, including planning of in-person events, organizing travel, identifying venues and working with OGC to negotiate contracts

Track candidate campaign contribution process, including working with OGC and Operations to ensure compliance vetting and timely processing of payments

Manage budget tracking and work with Operations to ensure contracts and campaign contributions for volunteer candidates/Demand a Seat participants are processed

Draft and organize program resources, such as presentations, reports and tracking materials

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Outstanding attention to detail and ability to create efficient structures

Outstanding writing, proofreading, and fact-checking abilities

Experience working on a political campaign is a PLUS

Passion for working to elect candidates who care about gun safety

Passion for providing excellent customer service to internal and external constituents

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships across multiple teams

A proactive, creative, and dogged approach to anticipating and solving problems

An ability to be flexible and thrive in a fast-paced organization with multiple projects and priorities

An ability to learn new systems and processes quickly

Ability to work independently, drive and manage workload and ability to adapt to changing priorities in fast pace dynamic environment

Excellent project management skills and ability to carry out multiple projects concurrently and prioritize work effectively by making and meeting team goals

Excellent communication and time management skills, with attention to detail

Flexible work schedule when evening and weekend hours are required

Ability to travel on behalf of the organization

Willingness and ability to work in an open office and hybrid work environment

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

Proficiency with Google Suite, Advanced level of proficiency with Excel or Google Spreadsheets

Passion for and interest in the administrative work of supporting our political team.

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 per year, depending on experience.
