Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Summary of Duties:

The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in our skilled technical manufacturing operations in Sycamore, IL. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of production and plant facility equipment. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician will assist the manager with ordering parts, standardizing components, and maintaining repair parts inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing production equipment according to production specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards.

Disassemble equipment, diagnose issues, rebuild, and replace defective parts such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, and electrical components.

Perform repairs on blenders, fillers, conveyors, and other production equipment.

Conduct regular checks on building equipment such as pumps, valves, chillers, compressors, and power systems as required.

Perform repairs and calibrate electronic instruments such as sensors, controls, scales, and metal detectors.

Work with outside contractors as needed.

Collaborate closely with other departments such as process engineers, production operators, and quality control.

Report directly to the maintenance manager.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience or proficiency in an industrial maintenance program that includes electrical coursework.

Blueprint reading skills.

Computer skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Forklift operating skills (on-site training and skills testing required).

Good understanding of the proper use of tools and equipment.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, working from heights, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee may be required to lift and/or move products ranging from 30 to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
