Tile Setter

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Install and repair various types of tile, including ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone

Prepare surfaces for tile installation by removing old flooring, cleaning and leveling the area

Measure and cut tiles to fit around obstacles and create desired patterns

Mix and apply mortar or adhesive to secure tiles in place

Grout and seal tiles to ensure a finished, polished appearance

Collaborate with clients or designers to select appropriate tile materials and patterns

Follow blueprints, schematics, or design plans to ensure accurate tile placement

Repair or replace damaged tiles as needed

Skills:

Experience in the restoration industry is a plus

Proficient in using hand tools such as tile cutters, trowels, and levels

Knowledge of drywall installation and repair techniques

Familiarity with various flooring installation methods

Ability to interpret and follow schematics or design plans

Expertise in tile laying techniques, including creating intricate patterns and designs

General maintenance person skills for minor repairs or adjustments during the installation process

Understanding of trim carpentry for finishing edges and transitions between different flooring materials

Knowledge of concrete finishing for subfloor preparation if necessary

Experience in cabinet installation is a bonus
