Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong backend engineering skills to support Truist's technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and API development, along with experience building enterprise-scale web applications. This role requires close collaboration with UX, Product, and Design teams to deliver high-quality, client-facing features.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot

Design, build, and optimize RESTful APIs, ensuring performance and reliability

Implement Swagger UI for REST services

Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, leveraging tools such as SonarQube and Veracode

Build new client-facing features for interactive, API-driven web applications

Collaborate with UX, Design, and Product teams to develop applications from the ground up

Write functional, testable code with thorough unit testing, supporting DevOps best practices

Enforce coding standards and participate in code reviews using Git Flow processes

Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and maintainability

Work effectively within an Agile Scrum Team

Required Skills & Experience

9-12 years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot

Strong API design and coding expertise

Proven implementation of Swagger UI

Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Sonar, Veracode, and related pipeline tools

Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies

Experience with AWS (preferred)

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
