A Purpose-Driven Entrepreneurship Initiative
Elevate your idea, improve your health, & improve our world
The Founder's Story: Why Voice Up Exists
The story of Voice Up did not begin as a startup idea. It began as a question about purpose.
People who connect to purpose achieve goals that truly have meaning for them and help them live a better and longer life. This is a scientific fact.
For many years, the founder of Voice Up worked across education, behavioral health, and leadership development, engaging with individuals searching for something deeper than traditional career pathways.
A pattern emerged across classrooms and professional settings as people repeatedly asked:
“What am I actually called to do?”
This question sparked a research journey to understand how people discover and act upon their sense of purpose.
While many individuals successfully identified their purpose and had ideas for community innovations or social initiatives, they lacked a clear pathway to turn that insight into action.
Voice Up was created to close that gap between purpose and implementation.
What began as a research project has since evolved into an ecosystem spanning 177 colleges and universities across more than 40 countries.
Introducing the Bootstrap Business Accelerator
The Voice Up Bootstrap Business Accelerator is a fully remote entrepreneurship program designed to help aspiring founders, professionals, and community innovators develop sustainable ventures grounded in purpose.
The program provides a structured environment where individuals can transform purpose into practical action.
Rather than emphasizing rapid growth at any cost, the accelerator encourages founders to build ventures that reflect their purpose and serve the communities they care about most.
Participants learn how to:
Identify opportunities
Test ideas
Build partnerships
Launch ventures using sustainable strategies that do not rely on outside investment
Program Structure & Experience
Delivered as an eight-week remote program, the accelerator is designed to fit the schedules of:
working professionals
students
community leaders
New cohorts begin the first week of each month, allowing participants to begin their entrepreneurial journey at a pace that fits their commitments.
Throughout the program, founders learn how to:
• Identify venture opportunities rooted in lived experience
• Conduct real customer discovery conversations
• Design minimum viable products or services
• Build sustainable business models without relying on outside investment
• Develop partnerships that expand reach and impact
• Communicate their venture mission with clarity and confidence
Voice Up vs. Traditional Accelerators

The Mission
At the center of every Voice Up initiative is a single guiding principle:
To connect people to purpose.
The Bootstrap Business Accelerator exists to help founders turn that purpose into action.
In one case, students helped advance national conversations around colorectal cancer awareness. In another, participants published books that were later used by family service organizations.
The projects were diverse, but they shared a common origin: someone who once doubted whether their experiences mattered discovered that they did.
The Voice Up model reframed leadership in a subtle but profound way. Rather than asking participants to fit themselves into existing professional identities, it asked them to begin with purpose and build outward.
Leadership, in this context, was not reserved for the already confident or the already credentialed. It could begin with someone who simply cared deeply about helping others and had lived through the kinds of experiences that often go unnamed.
