Transportation Technician 1, Office of Materials Management, PN 20050528
What You Will Do:
Assist Districts and Asphalt Field Operations Manager in all aspects of calibration, troubleshooting, investigating, quality assurance of asphalt mix plant production, asphalt placement, overall asphalt production, and laboratory testing technical assistance.
Ensure asphalt producers and district testing are in compliance with specifications, standards, quality control plans, JMFs, and proper testing processes and procedures.
Assist the Asphalt Field Operations Manager and Asphalt Engineer with special projects such as Balance Mix Design research by evaluating asphalt mixtures, pavements, and obtaining specialized mixture samples for research analysis.

5 yrs. engineering related technical experience in simple construction/ rehabilitation/maintenance projects or planning & design of simple civil engineering projects or materials testing, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled. -Or 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Technical Specialist, 85871, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.
-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
