Maintenance Mechanic

Pay Rate - $25/hr. - $30/hr.

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic for the 1st shift at our facility in Atchison, KS. This role involves maintaining and repairing mechanical systems to ensure efficient operations of our plant machinery.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.

Collaborate with mechanical repair personnel, operating personnel, and other maintenance personnel to analyze and resolve problems, reducing operating downtime.

Maintain adequate mechanical supplies, equipment, and tools.

Submit reports concerning the condition of equipment and the need for repairs or replacement.

Instruct mechanical repair personnel and other personnel on hazards and mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic safety procedures.

Report unsolved problems or changes in equipment or method of operation to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Repair and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment throughout the plant.

Assist in size changes as required or requested by operating management.

Rebuild and repair mechanical systems, hydraulic valves, pneumatic valves, centrifugal pumps, hydraulic pumps, gear reducers, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment as directed.

Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.

Oil and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.

Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.

Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.

Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.

Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.

Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.

Collaborate with product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications required.

Make necessary modifications and implement test runs, conferring with product manager regarding test results and making additional alterations to machinery as required.

Perform housekeeping duties.

Execute any other functions deemed necessary by the Supervisor and Maintenance Superintendent.

Ability to talk, hear, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Work Environment

This position is based in a steel pipe manufacturing facility.Job Type & Location

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
