POSITION SUMMARY
The Planning Analytics Specialist, Data Science leads the design, development, and deployment of advanced statistical and machine learning solutions that strengthen the planning organization’s effectiveness and decision-making. This role transforms complex data into actionable insights, delivering measurable improvements in forecast accuracy, operational efficiency, and business outcomes. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop scalable, repeatable processes that enable advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making across the organization. Provide consultative support to build foundational analytics capabilities that accelerate and enhance advanced analytical work.
Communicate complex analytical concepts to senior and regional leaders in a clear, compelling manner. Build strong relationships and foster confidence in data, models, and insights at all levels of the planning organization.
Apply business experience and technical expertise to recommend, develop, and implement best practices in model design. Identify and deploy appropriate modeling approaches for business needs, support business reviews with impactful visualizations, and automate analytical workflows where appropriate.
Mentor and guide data scientists and sales analysts to promote a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and ongoing improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
4-8 years of analytical experience or equivalent combination of advanced education and professional work.
Experience with a programmatic statistical language such as Python or R (Python preferred).
Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau (Power BI preferred).
Proficiency with SQL and experience working with large-scale data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Hadoop).
Experience using Git or other version control software.
Strong applied experience in data analysis, business intelligence, simulation, and optimization techniques.
Exposure to and proficiency in a broad range of analytical methods and the ability to apply them effectively in real-world business applications.
Exceptional attention to detail and high-quality execution.
Ability to translate high-level direction into actionable, well-structured plans.
Self-directed and capable of managing a portfolio of ongoing projects, including advocating for prioritization based on relative business value.
