Role Overview This role provides Electrical Engineering and controls expertise to support a quality and safety driven manufacturing environment producing high demand products.
The primary focus is to enhance factory productivity, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and deliver technical guidance to maintenance teams.
The position also coordinates and oversees external contractors to ensure successful project execution.
Required Skills & Experience: * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Proven ability to meet fast paced deadlines while maintaining high quality design standards.
* Preferred knowledge with PLC programming; however, experience with microprocessors, microcontrollers, or other related control devices is also acceptable.
* Willingness and aptitude to learn and support GE, Siemens, and Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and drive systems.
* Hands on experience with motor controls, including design, calculations, installation, and troubleshooting.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple functions such as HSE, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and contractor partners.
Responsibilities: * Develop robust, reliable electrical system designs that support manufacturing processes.
* Create, document, and maintain designs in accordance with plant standards.
* Obtain necessary approvals to introduce, modify, or retire equipment.
* Implement new technologies, techniques, and concepts to enhance functionality, simplify designs, improve system reliability, and reduce manufacturing costs.
* Track, maintain, and update the engineering project matrix.
* Develop standards for equipment and processes aligned with relevant electrical codes and regulations.
* Select contractors and lead their work through project completion, ensuring adherence to plant and corporate standards.
* Preserve and maintain backups of PLC programs, drive configurations, and essential software following established procedures.
* Maintain accurate and up to date electrical documentation.
* Troubleshoot electrical system issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Train Engineers and Maintenance Technicians as needed.
* Participate actively in engineering and cross functional business meetings.
* Present project status updates, results, and technical information across internal forums.
* Collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, Health & Safety, and other engineering disciplines.
* Complete daily follow ups on assigned morning market strips.
* Identify, request, and manage spare parts needs.
* Provide on call support for equipment and maintenance as required.
* Maintain compliance with all safety, corporate, and local training requirements throughout the year.
* Serve as a role model in safety, technical competence, teamwork, professionalism, and overall work ethic.
