Kitchen Helper (Homebound Line)

KITCHEN HELPER

Monday - Friday 4:00 am - 11:00 am (PT)

Modern Maturity Center, Dover, DE

($15.45 per hour with paid vacation and sick time benefits)

SUMMARY

As a Kitchen Helper, you will assist with packing and distributing food to Homebound clients. Your dedication to teamwork and willingness to take on a variety of tasks will be essential to meeting the needs of our Meals on Wheels clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in the packaging and distribution of meals

Ladle and portions of food into serving trays

Maintains the cleanliness of the work area

Operates a heat seal machine

Stocks the supply room with supplies and food, and rotates inventory

Maintains an inventory of the supply room and rotates frozen meals

Label packing for distribution to homebound clients

Transfer complete food packages to appropriate areas for transport or storage

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment

Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects

ServSafe or Food Handling certification is requested but not required

Must have reliable transportation
