Staff Accountant Responsibilities

Assist with daily accounting operations, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

Support month-end and year-end close processes.

Maintain general ledger accounts, including cash, fixed assets, and expenses.

Prepare and reconcile balance sheet and select income statement accounts.

Help prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.

Research and resolve discrepancies and variances.

Assist with external audits and prepare supporting documentation.

Perform bank reconciliations and resolve banking issues.

Support accounting systems and process improvements.

Provide backup support for AP/AR and assist with special projects.

Staff Accountant Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

0–4 years of relevant experience (internships included).

Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting fundamentals.

Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
