JOB TITLE: Day Traffic Control Flagger – Seasonal LOCATION: Columbus, OH HOURS: 1st Shift SEASONAL: Bridge Project (April – October) COMPENSATION: $19-21/hour TRAVEL: Minimal (1-10%) Your Daily Impact As a Traffic Control Flagger, you play a key role in maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow through active work zones.
You will help protect crews, drivers, and pedestrians by directing traffic, setting up safety equipment, and supporting daily traffic control operations for a bridge project.
This is a seasonal position lasting April-October, with opportunities to grow into a permanent position.

What You’ll Do Traffic Control & Safety Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely through construction zones Use signs, cones, and traffic control devices to guide motorists Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure worker and public safety Work Zone Setup Assist with setting up and removing traffic control equipment including cones and signage Ensure work zones remain properly marked and compliant with safety procedures Equipment & Vehicle Use Utilize a pickup truck for transporting traffic control equipment as needed Safely load, unload, and organize cones, signs, and materials Team Communication Coordinate with supervisors and crew members to maintain safe traffic flow Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, or equipment issues Reliability & Adaptability Follow instructions and adjust to changing traffic conditions or project needs Maintain regular and dependable attendance throughout the project Minimum Job Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred Experience: Previous traffic control or construction zone experience preferred but not required License: Valid Driver’s License Age: Must be at least 18 years of age Compliance: Must pass background screening and drug testing in accordance with company policy Skills & Competencies Safety Awareness Strong ability to follow traffic control procedures and maintain safe work zones Communication & Coordination Ability to clearly signal directions and communicate with drivers, pedestrians, and team members Reliability & Work Ethic Dependable attendance and ability to work outdoors in active construction environments Physical Requirements Continuous outdoor work with exposure to weather, traffic, and construction activity Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the work zone Ability to carry and place traffic cones and signage Safety & Protective Gear Required use of appropriate PPE including high-visibility apparel, gloves, and other safety gear as needed Safety is #1 Safety is the foundation of our work.
