About the role D-Wave is seeking a Control Systems RF Test Engineer to join our Hardware engineering team reporting to the Senior Manager, Control Systems leader.

The successful applicant will gain experience learning microwave engineering techniques and working on complex FPGA based control systems for quantum computing.

You will collaborate on various design projects learning from senior engineers and assisting in the assembly, testing, and deployment of the room temperature control electronics used to operate our quantum computers.

What you'll do * Design, prototype, test, and improve existing python-based hardware validation tests for microwave/RF control electronics * Architect new testing frameworks and expand the scope of control electronics testing * Perform and document system-level and subsystem level tests of RF/microwave hardware using FPGA signal generation and acquisition * Assisting in the assembly of complete RF control systems for quantum computers * Assembling, testing, and troubleshooting microwave RF subassemblies and modules * Detailing designs and documenting testing and prototyping procedures * Assisting in development projects as well as scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on control systems About You * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or engineering physics, or equivalent training and experience * Strong python competency and willingness to learn RF engineering skills * Experience operating microwave test equipment like VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes and other meters * Experience with assembly and test of microwave subassemblies * Willingness to learn from others and grow into the role, developing new skills over time * Strong critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills * Strong written & verbal communication * Willingness and interest in learning microwave/RF engineering concepts and seeing a broad range of projects Preferred Qualifications * Strong proficiency in python programming, data analysis, and computational physics * Exposure to FPGA based SDR and DSP principles * Test automation using microwave test equipment * RF or radar system assembly and production experience * Electrical circuit and system designs experience both RF and DC * PCB layout experience with Altium both DC and RF * Some exposure to Ansys simulation tools HFSS, SIwave, and IcePak * Some exposure to Keysight microwave simulation tools like ADS and SystemVue * Creative hobbies -electronic controllers, mechanics, etc.

The base pay range for this role is: 67,120 - 83,900 - 100,680 USD (New Haven)
