Our small distribution client is currently seeking a Supply Chain/Warehouse Director. This role is a hands-on, accountable leader responsible for overseeing the full supply chain lifecycle, including sourcing, international logistics, demand planning, inventory management, order management, and warehouse operations.
This role leads four functional teams, owns the S&OP process, ensures ERP data accuracy, and serves as the primary strategic connection between the Columbus Operations Hub and the Executive Team. This role will drive service reliability, cost efficiency, working capital optimization, and a high-performance culture in a rapidly growing environment.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Act as the primary liaison between operations and the Executive Team, delivering clear, data-driven insights into supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.
Translate company strategy into actionable operational plans with measurable outcomes.
Lead and continuously enhance the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align demand, supply, capacity, revenue, and cash goals.
Develop a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Lead, coach, and develop four functional managers across warehouse, order entry, logistics, and planning.
Establish KPIs, clarify roles, foster leadership capability, and build succession plans.
Promote a collaborative, growth-oriented, solution-focused culture. Core Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Supplier Management (Domestic & International)
Manage supplier performance, pricing, service levels, lead times, and long-term agreements.
Oversee global sourcing-including Incoterms, tariffs/duties, customs brokerage, and compliance with FSVP, SQF, QA, and regulatory standards.
Build and track supplier KPIs (OTIF, quality, lead-time adherence, ASN/EDI performance).
Lead risk mitigation through dual sourcing and contingency planning. 2. Demand Planning, MRP/DRP & Inventory Management
Own SKU-level forecasting and alignment with Sales and Finance through S&OP.
Set and maintain MRP/DRP parameters (min/max, safety stock, EOQ, reorder points).
Improve inventory health, increase turns, reduce aged stock, and enhance forecasting accuracy.
Ensure supply availability to support production schedules and customer demand. 3. International & Domestic Logistics
Oversee inbound logistics across ocean, air, truckload, LTL, intermodal, and parcel.
Select carriers using TMS tools and total landed cost analysis.
Manage customs clearance, drayage, demurrage, and transit-time reliability.
Improve dock scheduling, receiving efficiency, and dock-to-stock performance. 4. Order Management & Customer Fulfillment
Ensure accuracy in order entry, pricing, ATP, and routing compliance.
Manage outbound freight for both drop-ship and warehouse-fulfilled orders.
Ensure OTIF performance, packaging/labeling compliance, EDI accuracy, and customer scorecard results. 5. Warehouse Operations & Systems Integrity
Lead warehouse operations to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals.
Drive Lean/5S, root-cause problem solving, cycle-count accuracy, and process improvements.
Ensure ERP/WMS data integrity across all inventory and transactional activities. 6. Financial Ownership
Own key financial KPIs, including
Total landed cost of goods
Domestic & international freight costs
Inventory working capital
Warehousing/3PL cost performance
Partner with Finance on budgeting, cost modeling, and margin improvement initiatives. 7. Continuous Improvement & Technology Leadership
Champion digitization, automation, and standardized processes across the supply chain.
Maximize ERP utilization (Business Central preferred) and ensure accurate master data.
Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and build scalable processes to support growth. Success Metrics (KPIs)

7-10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience.
Proven leadership of multi-functional teams (sourcing, planning, logistics, warehousing).
Expertise in S&OP, forecasting, inventory management, and global sourcing.
Strong ERP proficiency (Business Central highly preferred).
Strong financial and analytical skills (landed cost, freight modeling, inventory optimization).
Experience managing inbound and outbound transportation networks.
Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder alignment. Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or related field (Master's preferred).
Certifications: APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD; Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt.
Experience with WMS, TMS, EDI, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
Hands-on leader comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels. #JDP
