Job Summary
The Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards and regulations. This role coordinates subcontractors, supervises crews, enforces safety policies, and serves as the primary on-site leader.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities from start to completion
Coordinate daily work schedules for crews, subcontractors, and suppliers
Ensure projects are executed according to plans, specifications, and timelines
Enforce safety policies and conduct regular job-site safety meetings and inspections
Monitor quality control and ensure work meets company and regulatory standards
Communicate progress, issues, and delays to Project Management
Review and manage job-site documentation (daily reports, timecards, inspections)
Resolve field issues, conflicts, and unexpected site conditions
Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials
Participate in project planning, scheduling, and site logistics
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
Required Qualifications
Must have some experience as a Field Superintendent or similar role
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety practices
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Proven leadership and team management skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety standards
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 30 certification
Trade background or technical training
Experience with scheduling software or project management tools
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 20 lbs
