Position Overview
Join our dedicated team in supporting the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at Pituffik Space Base, Greenland.
Serco is leading efforts to renovate the Power Building (J-Plant) and ensure it meets High Altitude Electro Magnetic Pulse (HEMP) protective standards. As the Onsite Quality Control Manager, your expertise will be essential in implementing and overseeing quality control measures during construction operations.
This role requires active DoD Secret security clearance.
This position is year-round with a current rotation of 3 months on-site and 1 month away.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in generating, reviewing, and submitting project documentation as required in the Resident Management System (RMS).
Prepare USACE and Serco QC documents, including daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing work performed and testing outcomes.
Identify and report non-compliance with project specifications and drawings per USACE and Serco quality management plans.
Conduct daily quality inspections following EM 385-1-1, quality processes, and contractor QC plans.
Evaluate the contractor quality control plan continuously and suggest updates for government approval.
Coordinate necessary inspections as outlined in project specifications.
Engage in QC activities throughout the three phases of work: preparatory, initial, and follow-up.
Supervise quality assessments of major work operations during scheduled shifts.
Participate in pre-construction conferences, and various project meetings to ensure quality standards are discussed and upheld.
Qualifications:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management; or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Quality Control Manager.
Completion of the Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working 10-hour shifts with extensive walking on the job site.
Willingness to travel more than 90% of the time.
Valid U.S. Passport required (must have more than 6 months until expiration).
Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety requirements and experience in hazard identification and compliance.
Experience working at Pituffik Space Base or similar remote locations.
Prior experience with USACE projects.
Knowledge of HEMP hardening or similar protective measures.
