Ocean Export Coordinator - Itasca, Illinois - Salary: Up to $65,000
The Ocean Export Coordinator will be responsible for managing ocean export shipments from booking through final delivery. This role ensures timely movement of freight while maintaining compliance with international shipping regulations and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate full-cycle ocean export shipments (FCL, LCL, and breakbulk)
Book cargo with steamship lines and negotiate rates when applicable
Prepare and review export documentation including: Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Shipper’s Export Declaration (EEI filing via AES), Certificates of Origin (as required)
Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and international trade laws
Communicate with carriers, overseas agents, trucking companies, warehouses, and customers
Arrange inland transportation and container drayage
Track shipments and proactively update customers on status
Handle billing, invoicing, and shipment costing
Resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, and claims
Maintain accurate records in the company’s freight management system
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in ocean export freight forwarding required
Strong knowledge of international shipping documentation and Incoterms
Experience filing EEI/AES
Familiarity with steamship line booking systems
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
