The job:

We are looking for a Laboratory Engineer to join our laboratory operations in Umestan, Umeå. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing company where you will play a key role in supporting and improving our value stream as part of our cross-functional support team.

In this position, you will drive technical development, ensure equipment reliability, and lead or participate in cross-functional projects to implement new technologies — from User Requirement Specification (URS) through validation and full implementation.

You will report to the Head of Supply Chain and be based at our Umeå office.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness

Develop User Requirement Specifications (URS) and actively contribute to investment and development projects

Perform preventive maintenance and service activities in accordance with established plans and guidelines

Optimize and continuously improve existing laboratory equipment

Support laboratory operations by driving improvements and resolving technical deviations

Conduct FMEA and risk assessments

Collect and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities

Perform technical validation of equipment

Ensure availability of critical spare parts

Maintain close communication with equipment suppliers and technology partners

Qualifications:

University degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline within Life Sciences, or equivalent experience gained through professional work

Experience in technical roles and laboratory environments is considered an advantage

Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
