EHS Manager Manistee, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs.

Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal EHS regulations and company standards.

Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.

Lead incident investigations for accidents, injuries, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors.

Manage hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater, and other environmental compliance programs.

Oversee the EHS management system, including documentation, record-keeping, and performance metrics.

Recommended Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field.

5+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory or management roles.

Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.

Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs (e.g., LOTO, confined space, hazard communication, waste management).

Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is highly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to lead incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Bonus Qualifications

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification

Proficiency with EHS management software (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, SAP EHS)

Experience with OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP)

Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish
