Description:

Join our innovative Robotics Software team, dedicated to shaping the future of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and intelligent robotic platforms. We specialize in creating full-stack robotics solutions that encompass perception, planning, control, and system integration. Our mission is to deliver cutting-edge autonomous solutions to revolutionize work environments.

We are on the lookout for a Senior Robot Localization Engineer to spearhead the development of localization solutions that are essential for the validation and testing of localization subsystems in autonomous robotic systems. This role will allow you to focus on crafting precise camera- and LiDAR-based localization subsystems, defining technical requirements, establishing and executing testing protocols, integrating software with physical and simulation platforms, and driving team success towards technical and business goals.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams of experts in autonomy, contributing significantly to system-level validation and enhancing our system reliability and validation approaches.

What You'll Do:

Design and implement advanced precision localization techniques utilizing camera, LiDAR, wheel encoder, and inertial sensors.

Develop scalable, real-time localization modules tailored for autonomous robotic systems.

Draft comprehensive engineering specifications and testing procedures to ensure systems meet compliance standards.

Benchmark and evaluate the performance of localization systems effectively.

Conduct thorough reviews of leading camera- and LiDAR-based localization algorithms.

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues employing robust knowledge of probabilistic estimation, sensor fusion, and real-time systems.

Refine and tune localization system parameters to enhance accuracy and reliability.

Your Skills & Abilities:

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Proficient in C++ or Python programming languages.

Extensive experience with camera- and LiDAR-based localization algorithms, particularly in statistical estimation theory and techniques such as pose graph and factor graph optimization.

Expertise in optimizing localization software for peak performance within resource constraints.

Solid understanding of state-of-the-art place recognition solutions for effective loop-closure detection.

Familiarity with ROS2 or similar robotics middleware.

Knowledge of other critical robotics areas such as perception, mapping, and path planning.

Commitment to continuous development and deployment of robotic software.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge:

Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.

Understanding of the development lifecycle for deep learning and AI models.

Familiarity with localization frameworks like Cartographer, ORB-SLAM, and VINS-Mono.

Experience with cloud-based mapping systems.

Background in AV/ADAS integration or industrial automation is advantageous.
