Lathe Operator

Job Description LSI STAFFING is seeking a skilled Machine Operator for their Metal Fabrication client in Irving, Texas.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills or experience: Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain lathe machines, including both manual and CNC lathes, to perform precision machining operations.

Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand product specifications and requirements.

Check workpieces for defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Set up, adjust, and program CNC machines for automated production.

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, following all safety protocols and procedures.

Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities within the team.

Mentor junior machinists or apprentices, particularly in senior or lead roles.

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Skills and QualificationsProven experience as a Lathe Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role.

Strong understanding of metalworking properties and machining techniques.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

Experience with precision measuring tools and quality control procedures.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues independently.

Knowledge of CNC programming and operation is highly desirable.
