Job Description

Position Title: Quarry Operator I

Department: Quarry Operations

Location: Athens, AL

Essential Job Functions:

Assist in the extraction and processing of materials from the quarry.

Operate basic quarry equipment such as loaders, drills, and crushers under supervision.

Help with the maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas.

Assist in loading materials into trucks for transport.

Perform tasks related to site safety, including ensuring that safety protocols are followed.

Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.

Maintain a high level of quality work at all times

Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times

Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks

Perform other duties as assigned

Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

Ability to communicate and convey information effectively

Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds

Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Previous experience in construction, mining, or heavy equipment operation (optional but beneficial).

Knowledge of OSHA & MSHA Standards

Dependable transportation

Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required

Work weekends and overtime as needed

Committed to attending work each day

Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
