Job Title: Web Application Developer
Job Location: Downtown Houston, TX 77002 *Prospective candidates MUST be located in the HOUSTON, TX area.
Job Type: Contract
Job Schedule: Mon-Fri, 40 hrs/week
Job Salary: $34-$36/hour *Depending on experience.
About the Role
Support, maintain, and enhance an integrated judicial web application used by multiple justice agencies and courts to document and manage civil and criminal justice processes. You will analyze requirements, implement features, resolve defects, produce batch reports, and collaborate with agency stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and user-friendly operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance the judicial application; triage and resolve defects.
Translate requirements into technical tasks and validate user stories.
Develop and test web features, APIs, and batch reports.
Participate in agile ceremonies and backlog prioritization.
Provide stakeholder support and documentation for non-technical users.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and county agencies.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
2+ years experience supporting or developing web-based applications.
Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML/CSS, server-side language (C#, Java, or Node.js), and SQL.
Experience writing and validating requirements and user stories.
Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with version control, unit testing, and basic CI/CD.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with enterprise integrations, reporting tools, and batch processing.
Prior work with government or justice systems or sensitive data.
Agile experience and participation in sprint planning and retrospectives.
