Job Details

Location: Columbus, OH 43210 – Central Ohio; great dining, arts, and outdoor activities; perfect for travel nursing in Columbus, Ohio.

Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse opportunity)

Unit: Critical Care Float Pool (Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, NCCU)

Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), including weekend nights (Friday/Saturday + one weekday)

Hours per Week: 36

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: 4/20/2026

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940–$2,040

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Critical Care Nurse qualifications and Float Pool RN requirements:

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (neuro, surgical, medical, cardiac experience preferred)

Active RN license — compact or Ohio state license required at submission (RN license for Ohio travel nursing)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required

Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record / EPIC charting experience

Clinical skills: IV start, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management

Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred (travel nurse or float pool RN experience)

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Seasonal flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Two professional references required (at least one from a supervisor/manager/charge RN)

Responsibilities / ICU Travel Nurse Duties

As a Critical Care Float Pool RN (travel nurse), you will:

Float between various critical care units based on staffing needs and patient acuity

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to adult patients with complex medical and surgical needs

Manage advanced ICU equipment and procedures, including ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and EVDs

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and provide emergency interventions

Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions and adhere to hospital safety protocols

Document patient care accurately and timely using EPIC

Participate in orientation, unit-based competencies, and ongoing training as required
