Linux / Teradata Test Technician
Location: Manufacturing Facility, West Columbia SC
Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday – Friday
Pay: $25–$28 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Linux / Teradata Test Technician to support product testing and validation within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for executing system and functional tests on hardware and software platforms, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring products meet quality and performance standards before release. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a production setting, has experience with Linux-based systems, and can support data validation and testing activities involving Teradata environments. This position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support testing processes, resolve technical issues, and improve test procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute system, functional, and regression tests on Linux-based systems and manufacturing test platforms
• Support validation and data testing activities involving Teradata environments and associated databases
• Set up, configure, and maintain Linux-based test environments and test equipment
• Follow established test procedures and document test results, issues, and corrective actions
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and configuration issues during testing
• Work with engineering teams to reproduce issues and support root cause investigations
• Assist in the development and improvement of test processes, scripts, and documentation
• Ensure test activities align with manufacturing schedules and quality standards
• Maintain accurate records of test results and system configurations
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the test and manufacturing processes
Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electronics, Computer Engineering Technology, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a test technician, systems technician, or manufacturing test environment
• Experience working with Linux operating systems (command line, system configuration, troubleshooting)
• Familiarity with Teradata or other enterprise database platforms preferred
• Experience executing structured test procedures and documenting results
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware and software environments
• Ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience
• Experience supporting manufacturing test systems or automated test equipment
• Basic scripting experience (Bash, Python, or similar)
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals and system integration testing
• Experience with data validation or database testing processes
