GIS Analyst / Associate - Geographic Information Systems
Under general direction, the GIS Analyst/Associate coordinates, designs, develops, maintains, and documents Geographic Information System (GIS) databases, applications, and products that support OCTA's transportation programs and projects. This role plays a key part in delivering spatial analysis, data visualization, and innovative geospatial solutions that inform planning, programming, and operational decision-making.
The GIS Analyst is an exempt position in salary grade 195: Min $88,753.60 - Mid $106,038.40 - Max $123,302.40/annually; the GIS Analyst Associate is a non-exempt position in salary grade 185: Min $38.71 - Mid $46.24 - Max $53.76/hour. The starting salary will be within the established range based on qualifications.

What You'll Do
Design, develop, integrate, and maintain complex geographic databases and related reporting tools
Perform spatial analyses and develop GIS models to support transportation planning and operations
Prepare high-quality maps, charts, dashboards, and other geospatial products
Edit, clean, and prepare GIS data for analysis and reporting using industry-standard tools
Assist in developing and hosting web-based GIS services and geoprocessing applications
Support and promote an integrated transportation GIS database across departments
Provide technical support and guidance on GIS software and applications
Coordinate with consultants and ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget requirements
Represent OCTA in meetings with public agencies, consultants, and professional organizations
Prepare written reports and presentations, including materials for executive leadership or Board meetings What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Planning, Engineering, Statistics, Information Technology, or related field
Minimum of three years of GIS-related professional experience (Associate level: experience preferred)
Strong understanding of spatial analysis and geographic data processing
Experience developing GIS databases, applications, and analytical tools
Proficiency in GIS software and related technologies
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
