#Responsibilities:

#Database Performance Engineering:

• Lead end-to-end SQL Server performance analysis, including identification of bottlenecks at query, index, memory, I/O, and CPU levels.

• Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and routines to improve execution efficiency.

• Conduct execution plan analysis and refactor inefficient query patterns.

• Perform index strategy design and optimization, including identifying missing, unused, or fragmented indexes.

Backend Issue Diagnosis & Resolution

• Troubleshoot backend performance issues impacting applications, APIs, and downstream systems.

• Investigate blocking, deadlocks, long-running queries, and concurrency issues.

• Identify root causes across database configuration, schema design, query logic, and workload patterns.

• Work closely with application and middleware teams to resolve cross-layer performance problems.

#Proactive Monitoring & Stabilization:

• Set up and enhance performance monitoring and alerting mechanisms.

• Analyze historical performance trends and recommend corrective actions.

• Proactively identify risks related to capacity, growth, and workload spikes.

Operational DBA Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day DBA activities including performance health checks, patching coordination, backup/restore validation, and maintenance jobs.

• Ensure database availability, reliability, and compliance with enterprise standards.

• Provide recommendations for database configuration tuning aligned with workload characteristics.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with application developers, architects, and support teams to align on performance fixes.

• Clearly document performance findings, root-cause analysis, remediation steps, and tuning recommendations.

• Provide knowledge transfer and handover documentation as part of engagement closure.
