Machine Operator - Polishing & Edging Machine

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Pay: $ 20-22/hr depending on experience

Shift: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 6am-2:30pm

OT as required by business needs

Position Summary

The Ideal candidate will have 2+ years relevant manufacturing experience operating machines. Glass industry experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Set up and operate a single side straight-line glass-edging machine to polish glass or mirror edges.

Start machine and place glass or mirrors on conveyor of machine.

Fabricate glass to the specification requested by the customer and verify program geometric dimension based off work orders received.

Move glass from machine and wipe edges to remove polishing compound.

Requires the use of an overhead crane to lift and maneuver glass onto the machine.QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in a production environment (glass industry preferred, but not required)

Ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels

Ability to read and understand basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure

Ability to work in all areas of production

Ability to lift 75lbs unassisted

Ability to lift 150lbs in a team two-person lift

Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time

Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment

Ability to work independently or in a team environment BENEFITS
