\n Job Description:\n Engineering Technician IV - Navy PMS\n Summary / Objective:\n This team provides support in the areas of Administration, Program Management, Engineering, and Logistics Programs associated with life cycle maintenance, modernization, and modification of Naval ships, unique platforms, new construction units and support facilities for Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning and Procurement (SUBMEPP), an independent field activity of the Naval Sea Systems (NAVSEA) Command that is aligned under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN).\n SUBMEPP’s mission is to keep assigned Naval ships and submersibles safe, reliable, and affordable through use of its engineered life cycle maintenance and modernization products and services.

SUBMEPP performs technical duties and responsibilities to provide and maintain engineered life cycle maintenance products in direct support of the Fleet, shipyards, industrial facilities, and NAVSEA.\n General Duties or Experience:\n Submarine Maintenance Engineering Planning & Procurement (SUBMEPP) facility in the area of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) documentation.

This position will assist with the review of Technical Work Documents (TWDs) from current CNO Availabilities to determine whether the maintenance accomplished satisfies the requirements of SUBMEPP Maintenance Standards/Requirements identified in each Availability Work Package (AWP).\n Essential functions:\n Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.\n\nCreate or update quality Planned Maintenance System (PMS) documentation according to customer directions, fleet feedback, or other technical requirements.

This work involves using resources like operating manuals, technical drawings, equipment specifications, and configuration data.\nReview and understand technical submarine documentation, including Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), Technical Feedback Reports (TFBRs), PMS Service Requests (PSRs), Maintenance Standards, and Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) system drawings.\nPerform Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis on new and existing maintenance requirements.

This ensures the systems maintain high safety, reliability, environmental compliance, and operational readiness at the most effective cost.\nCollaborate with the customer and various organizations, offering in-depth research and data analysis to improve engineering documentation and provide informed technical feedback.\n\n Required Education and Experience:\n\nHigh School Diploma or accredited GED equivalent.\nAdept at learning new systems and terminology.\n4 years of experience with shipboard maintenance and submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems (preferred).\nExperience as a PQS Worker, Work Center Supervisor, or 3M Coordinator within the Navy’s maintenance system (preferred).\nFamiliarity with the Navy’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS) (preferred).\n\n Competencies:\n\nProficient in using Windows PC and the MS Office Suite.\nKnowledge of submarine equipment and systems (a plus).\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical documentation and data.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and reporting.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.\nFamiliarity with engineering documentation standards and quality assurance practices (preferred).\nComfortable learning and adapting to new technologies or systems quickly.\nAttention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.\n\n Additional eligibility requirements\n Work authorization/security clearance requirements:\n • An active or current DoD Secret security clearance.\n Other Duties:\n Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor.

Attendance at prescheduled mandatory meetings is required.

Must be available during the core work hours as determined by your contract/location and must account for the required number of hours in a pay period to maintain Full-time status.\n Telework:\nThis position may allow for situational telework.
