Job Description
Plant Operations Manager – Topeka, Kansas
Lead with Purpose. Build What Matters. Drive Excellence.
Are you a seasoned operations leader who thrives on the plant floor? Do you know how to build high-performing teams, eliminate waste, and turn strategy into measurable results? If so, we want to hear from you.
We're looking for a dynamic and driven Plant Operations Manager to take the helm of our Topeka, Kansas manufacturing facility. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable diving into production metrics and inspiring a team to reach new heights.
What You'll Own
This isn't a role for someone who manages from a distance. You'll be at the center of everything — from shaping long-range production strategy to walking the floor and driving a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Strategic & Production Leadership
Set and drive production schedules aligned with demand, capacity, and inventory goals
Monitor and act on key performance metrics — OEE, output, scrap rates, and changeover times
Report facility performance to senior leadership and keep operations on plan
Supply Chain & Logistics
Lead procurement and supply chain functions to ensure raw material availability and effective logistics
Maintain sharp inventory control and supplier accountability
Quality & Compliance
Partner with the QA team to ensure products consistently meet internal specs and customer standards
Own compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and industry requirements — including audits, documentation, and corrective actions
Safety Culture
Champion a zero-compromise safety culture
Enforce company safety policies and ensure all incidents are reported and resolved with proper corrective actions
People & Culture
Lead, mentor, and hold accountable production and maintenance managers and operations staff
Define staffing levels, shift structures, and responsibilities to meet operational needs
Build a culture grounded in communication, engagement, training, and cross-functional teamwork
Continuous Improvement & Cost Management
Drive Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and standard work initiatives to improve efficiency, yield, and quality
Analyze and act on operating costs — labor, materials, scrap, overtime, and energy — to improve profitability
Evaluate processes and equipment to identify opportunities for improvement and capital investment
What You Bring
Proven experience leading operations in a manufacturing environment at a senior level
Strong command of production planning, scheduling, and performance management
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
Deep understanding of OSHA, environmental compliance, and quality systems
A track record of building engaged, accountable, high-performing teams
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into action
A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across all levels of an organization
Ready to Make Your Mark?
If you're a results-oriented leader who takes pride in operational excellence and developing the people around you, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.
